We've learned from experience that there is no one absolutely perfect form of therapy that solves all problems. It's my job  to select and apply the right therapies for you.

Here you can find out which therapies we work with and what they are intended to achieve.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is one of the three pillars of Physiotherapy. During our training as manual therapists, we also learned content that went beyond joint mobilization. For us, it is the most important tool in our daily physiotherapy practice.
It enables us to use our hands to sense disruptive fields (disorders, restrictions, tensions, or blockages) in the body and release them using selected techniques, such as myofascial techniques. This improves mobility in the disrupted tissue and gives the body a chance to realign itself.
We lead special exercises to stabilize and improve the newly gained mobility in the tissue and joints.

Manual therapy is often prescribed by orthopedic surgeons for back pain and/or joint blockages.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy often referred to as myofascial release or pressure point massage, involves the application of gentle yet firm pressure to specific areas along the body, known as pressure or trigger points. This pressure is provided by the hands of a skilled physical therapist trained in pressure point release. Sometimes, a therapist may choose to use certain devices or tools to assist with force application.

The manual pressure provided by a therapist during trigger point therapy is intended to relax and normalize trigger points within the fascia, a widespread, sheath-like, fibrous tissue encasing your musculoskeletal structures. Fascia, which is normally pliant and flexible, is important for protecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, and nerves and helps them move together in a coordinated way. However, when stress, injury, poor posture, repetitive movement, or poor nutrition or hydration is imposed on the body, the fascia can become inelastic and stiff. This restricts the normal movement of the connective tissues beneath, leading to pain, immobility, and even an increased risk of injury.

To this end, trigger point therapy is intended to "release" the tension and stress in the fascia and other structures within targeted treatment areas, thus restoring normal movement, relieving pain, and reducing your risk of further tissue damage.

Dry Needling

Your muscles, composed of thousands of fibers working together, enable movement, strength, and stability throughout your body. These fibers, along with surrounding structures like tendons, fascia, and nerves, can develop tight knots or trigger points due to injury, overuse, or stress, leading to pain and restricted motion. At our physiotherapy clinic, we offer dry needling, a specialized technique that uses fine needles to target these trigger points, releasing tension, alleviating pain, and restoring optimal muscle function.

The specific approach, depth, and duration of dry needling depend on various factors, including your condition, the muscle group targeted, and your unique physiology. The primary benefits of dry needling include rapid pain relief, enhanced flexibility, and improved muscle performance, complementing our comprehensive therapy plans to help you move better and feel your best.

Ergonomics

.What is ergonomic occupational and physical therapy?

With work-from-home and hybrid working being the new norm, understanding and applying the principles of ergonomics has never been more critical. But what is ergonomic occupational and physiotherapy, and how can it make a difference in your life?

Ergonomics in occupational and physical therapy involves the optimization of your functional mobility and helps you work more efficiently without putting undue strain on your body. My Aim is to guide you on this journey, offering ergonomic and work-from-home consultations as well as in-person sessions
